This app, NOAA SuperRes Radar, is a must-have for weather enthusiasts. Unlike other weather apps, it offers access to incredibly detailed super high-resolution radar mosaics for the continental US. With four times the resolution of typical weather radar products, you can view storm features that are not visible in ordinary radar apps. The accuracy and ease of use of this app sets it apart from the competition.

In addition to the SuperRes Level 2 radar, NOAA RadarUS+ provides a wealth of features including hourly forecast radar with a three-kilometer range. You can also access three- and six-day precipitation and pressure forecasts from NOAA weather models. The temperature overlay, snow/mixed precipitation display, and seven-day forecasts and current conditions are all conveniently accessible on the radar map. The app also provides severe weather warnings for flash floods, tornadoes, and severe thunderstorms. By tapping on a warning box, you can view the full warning message from the National Weather Service.

NOAA RadarUS+ goes beyond just radar features. You can also access cloud cover and satellite imagery for the continental United States. The app offers advanced radar layers such as echo tops, composite reflectivity, and storm total precipitation. Furthermore, you can customize your experience with options like play, pause, and step animations, fast zoom in and zoom out, choice of radar palettes, and multiple map styles.

The app displays the time of radar images either as an absolute time or relative to the current time. It also includes a GPS locator that finds and displays your current location. You can adjust the transparency of the radar or cloud cover overlays to suit your preferences. The app also offers clutter filtering and smoothing to enhance the radar display.

For your convenience, the app automatically refreshes when new radar or cloud cover data is available. You can search for locations using zip codes, city names, or addresses. The app also features a legend for radar and cloud cover overlays. It saves and restores your last location and zoom level, ensuring a seamless experience.

Please note that radar coverage is limited to the continental United States. Alaska, Hawaii, and other US controlled territories are not included in the coverage.
